Čakovec Castle
The Museum of the Medžimurje Čakovec Region is located in a wonderful Renaissance-Baroque palace, also known as the Zrinski Palace. It got its name from the famous Zrinskis dynasty, the Bans of Croatia, who had it built in the 16th and 17th centuries and then used it as a residence. The palace has two-storeys and four wings. The museum is located here, and inside the wall there is a spacious atrium with a lapidarium and an exhibition room for themed exhibitions. There are five separate exhibition sections: archeology, ethnology, cultural history, history and an art gallery.
